ISSUE 30
We search for meaning in the skies, in the stones, and within the elements of our bodies.
We gaze as far as light can travel and break ourselves down to the tiniest particle. Despite these efforts, we remain a mystery.
It is somewhere between the stars and death that we create our meaning, our purpose, and our magic.
Poetry serves as proof of Spirit. Poets create a string of words entangled like DNA helices to bring our soul matter to life.
Thank you to all the contributors. You are truly magical beings.

Announcements
This year I had the honor of reading and blurbing two poetry books by previous contributors: Walter Weinschenk who wrote I Was Very Old That Day (issue no. 25), and Jason Brightwell who contributed Asleep (issue no. 2) and Night Gardening (issue no. 26).
Below are both of their debut books and my blurbs:
Walter Weinschenk, The Death of Weinberg: Poems and Stories ($23)
Walter Weinschenk’s words peek behind the veils of Life and Time. His writing flows like the rhythms of nature. There is a sacredness and a soberness to his poetry, which makes this book feel like a pilgrimage. As I read it, I found myself walking toward more and more consciousness.
Jason Brightwell, Graveyard Dogs ($20)
Graveyard Dogs is a graceful descent into the dimension of loss and grief. We witness life reduced to dirt and gravestones. We see love pushed into the shadows with nowhere to go. Jason Brightwell is a masterful shepherd whose poems guide us through the many facets of death. There is beauty and elegance in mourning and on every page in this book. He shows us life prevails through tar, rust and blood clots. We remain—the ones that are left behind—still of stars and still of purpose.
